Academic Planning

What is "Academic Planning"?

Academic Planning sessions are 1 on 1 sessions in which a student works directly with a trained members of academic support. In this sessions the student and academic support staff work together to develop a plan based on student-identified academic goals. Plans feature "to-do" items for a successful semester or other defined period of time: what resources you should access, what support you need from different offices on campus, how and when to access that support, and how the different members of Academic Support can work with you to develop the necessary skills to keep you working toward academic success.

How will Academic Plans be documented?

All academic plans from these meetings will be documented in Navigate under "Success Plans." Advisors and Student Success staff, in addition to you as a student, will have access to your plan, which will be updated across a semester and adjusted, as needed by staff in Academic Support.  This allows everyone to work together as a team to support you in achieving your goals and shows the hard work you are putting into your own success.

Who should use Academic Planning?

If you are facing transitions or challenges that are new to you or have been a regular part of your academic career, or you are someone who wants to think critically about how you can maximize your academic experience, you are a great candidate for academic planning. Faculty can refer students, too, when they need another voice or perspective in the conversation, are not sure what supports to advise, or know that a student is facing a particular challenge.

All É«ÖÐÉ« students have access to this resource, and academic support staff have bookable hours open to all É«ÖÐÉ« students.  Students can make an appointment or email academicsupport@moravian.edu.  Faculty may also refer students using the Academic Support referral in Navigate or emailing the above address.
