Collection Policy

The Archives acquires, manages and provides access to É«ÖÐÉ« University and Seminary records of enduring administrative, fiscal, legal and historical value. Collecting shall involve the solicitation or donation of material from trustees, presidents and other administrators, administrative offices, academic departments, student organizations, faculty, students, alumni and other individuals in possession of pertinent archival material related to the history, programs and goals of É«ÖÐÉ« University and É«ÖÐÉ« Theological Seminary.

The Archives shall collect:

  • Institutional records such as minutes, reports, correspondence and other materials generated by or for the University and Seminary.
  • Manuscripts including correspondence, scrapbooks, notebooks, diaries, memoirs and other materials of a personal nature that document the activities and history of the University and Seminary.
  • Published materials such as catalogs, yearbooks, and directories generated by or about the University and Seminary.
  • Photographs documenting the history and activities of the University and Seminary.

The Archives shall not collect:

  • Artifacts, other than certain forms of memorabilia generated for reunions and other events.
  • Material whose only connection to the University and Seminary resides in the fact that it was created or acquired by someone associated with these institutions.

Only under exceptional circumstances and in consultation with appropriate administrators shall the Archives purchase material.

The Archives shall retain the right to decline or subsequently dispose of material that lacks permanent historical value or is duplicative of other holdings.
