É«ÖÐÉ« University recognizes that investing in our people is key to our continued success as an institution. We are committed to the ongoing professional development of our employees and offer many resources, at no cost to the employee, either internally or through professional affiliations, partnerships, or memberships. Explore these resources and opportunities below.

In addition to providing insurance coverage for educational institutions, supports its members with a wide variety of risk management resources including claim trends/data, compliance checklists, articles, podcasts, webinars, and training related to nearly every facet of risk in education. These resources may help if you are unsure of how to manage a risk related to your role, need to write a policy, or simply want to enhance your understanding of a critical trend.

Starting in fall 2024, É«ÖÐÉ«'s partnership with UE will provide our campus community with access to their new learning portal, which includes a broad range of training modules focused on strengthening campus culture, safety and well-being. While some modules comprise required employee training, the full course library can be accessed for enrichment learning at any time. Employees will receive an email with inviting them to access to the .

Employees who work hands-on with students may contact professionaldevelopment@moravian.edu to review training modules in Vector’s student course library to consider for use with their respective student population.


É«ÖÐÉ« University is part of Belong: An Inclusive Learning Community, a learning network offered on behalf of the  and  that is intended to increase student belonging on college campuses through four foundations of community.

Our partnership provides a nationally recognized, micro credentialing course for 6 faculty and staff annually called . Additionally, all faculty and staff are able to attend live quarterly webinars that address issues of inclusivity and belonging, and recommend practical approaches that can be implemented right away. Our partnership also includes access to a resource library that can be accessed through a member hub.

is a national consortium of private comprehensive colleges and universities working together to collaborate in the delivery of innovative ideas and to champion the belief that a comprehensive liberal, professional, and civic education is essential to the future of our world. Through ²Ñ´Ç°ù²¹±¹¾±²¹²Ô’s membership in NACU, our faculty and staff gain access to a network of colleagues (learning communities) to share best practices and address issues affecting students and faculty at their institutions. NACU offers a center for professional development with workshops, podcasts, and a resource library; research publications and benchmarking tools; as well as innovative student programs.


is a consortium of the six private institutions of higher education in the Lehigh Valley, including Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Lafayette College, Lehigh University, É«ÖÐÉ« University, and Muhlenberg College. LVAIC offers a number of resources, conferences and symposia, and personal and programs and opportunities, many of which are offered to members free of charge.

Additionally, as many as 70 communities of practice (groups of faculty and staff) gather formally or informally for professional development, best practice sharing, advancement of initiatives, and development of programs across the campuses. Your supervisor or colleagues may be able to connect you with the appropriate group of peers. You can also view a or ask LVAIC for help to establish one.


is an association of the independent, non-profit institutions of higher education across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that focuses on advocacy, collaboration, resources, and communication that advance our missions. This includes offering professional working groups that share best practices and collaborative initiatives, as well as reduced cost training and development opportunities for faculty and staff at member institutions. An electronic newsletter is available to members to keep informed of initiatives and opportunities.

The organization provides updates, guidance, and resources related to federal requirements, financial aid, data/reporting, legislation, and other key issues impacting presidents and higher education leaders.


is a global membership organization dedicated to advancing the vitality and democratic purposes of undergraduate liberal education. Our membership includes access to resources, publications, programs, and events focused on promoting equity, innovation, and excellence in higher education.


is a national nonprofit that supports the creation of education-to-career pathways, fueling economic mobility and community prosperity for all. Our membership includes access to thought leaders, resources, tools, workshops. and other learning opportunities focused on adult learning, equity, and innovation.


Human Resources at É«ÖÐÉ« understands that investing in our people is critical and supports employee professional development through a variety of processes, programs, and partnerships. HR oversees the annual performance review process, including goal setting and professional development, for staff and administration. HR works closely with supervisors to ensure that employees receive necessary training, as well as opportunities for professional enrichment. HR can be a resource to employees seeking new opportunities for growth and development.


²Ñ´Ç°ù²¹±¹¾±²¹²Ô’s Teaching and Learning Center cultivates a vibrant, engaged community of teachers and learners through a variety of programs and opportunities that encourage, support, and assess evidence-based teaching and instructional practices. This includes a calendar of workshops and events primarily designed for faculty, as well as a resource page, teaching tips, and pedagogical information.


²Ñ´Ç°ù²¹±¹¾±²¹²Ô’s Online Education and Innovation team supports faculty in designing fully online and hybrid courses using a student-centered pedagogy and the highest quality standards of online course design. This includes providing effective online teaching and instructional technology resources both online and through a series of regular workshops and programs.

Most fields in higher education have their own professional organization that serves their functional area (ex. or NADOHE). These national or international organizations typically have an annual membership fee to access benefits such as listservs, resource libraries, best practices, conferences, and other learning opportunities. Many professional associations also have vibrant state or regional chapters that offer similar programs. Your supervisor or colleagues may already belong or can help you find the right organization. É«ÖÐÉ« has a number of important community partnerships that provide access to professional development opportunities (ex. ). Serving on boards of local agencies, nonprofits, and community organizations is also a great source of professional development and networking for many É«ÖÐÉ« employees.


During their employment with É«ÖÐÉ«, benefits-eligible employees may engage in continuing education at the undergraduate or graduate level, related to their work and career goals. The Educational Benefits Policy outlines benefit options, employee eligibility, available programs of study, and length of service requirements. Educational benefits may also be available to a partner and/or dependents.


Employees are encouraged to explore additional training and professional development opportunities specific to their role, field of expertise, and/or career goals- and to talk with their supervisor about how their engagement will enhance their learning and growth. While goal setting and professional development planning should take place at least annually (performance review process), supervisors are encouraged to cultivate ongoing dialogue. 

Additional tools are in development to assist employees and supervisors with professional development planning and will be added as they become available.
