DNP Program Overview
É«ÖÐÉ« University’s Doctor of Nursing Practice Program prepares you to be a future leader in healthcare who can effect change toward practice improvement, address health inequities, and impact patient experiences and outcomes. As a graduate of our Doctor of Nursing Practice Program, you’ll be uniquely prepared to analyze system processes and lead initiatives to improve the quality and safety of healthcare delivery for patients and families, at both the individual and population levels. É«ÖÐÉ« University’s Helen S. DNP Student Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program, graduates will be prepared to:
- Synthesize new and prior learning for clinical decision-making, policy development, and healthcare leadership.
- Analyze population health perspectives in provision of safe, person-centered care to foster optimal health outcomes and well-being for diverse individuals, families, communities, and populations.
- Conduct scholarly inquiry using information technology to synthesize best evidence to inform nursing practice, education, research, and policy.
- Perform quality improvement initiatives that ensure cost-effective healthcare, promoting a culture of safety at the individual and systems levels.
- Refine one’s own professional identity through adherence to professional standards of practice and code of ethics.

Curriculum
The Doctor of Nursing Practice post-master’s program includes 12 courses that can be taken synchronously online. As a full-time student, you’ll complete 35 credits in 8 terms over the course of 2 years. If you choose to enroll in this program part-time, you’ll complete your degree in 3 to 4 years. É«ÖÐÉ« University MSN alumni require only 29 credits, as 6 MSN credits are applied toward the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree requirements.

Admission Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing or related discipline
- Submission of official transcripts from all postsecondary schools attended
- Unencumbered active RN licensure
- Two professional references, including one from a nursing supervisor or a recent academic reference
- Personal statement of professional goals for doctoral study and nursing career (optional)
- Professional résumé or curriculum vitae
- Interview with the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program Director
Accreditation
É«ÖÐÉ« University will seek accreditation for the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program after the first academic year with enrolled students, per the (CCNE) requirements. The baccalaureate and master’s degree programs in nursing at É«ÖÐÉ« University are currently accredited by the CCNE.
