É«ÖÐÉ« already has 3D printers available in its computer science and occupational therapy programs, university President Bryon Grigsby said. The partnership will allow É«ÖÐÉ« to share expertise and knowledge of this technology with Good Shepherd, while the hospital will provide a real-world clinical setting for new research and development that students and faculty at É«ÖÐÉ« can work in.
While some elements of the partnership, including cross-training and education, begin immediately, the partnership will achieve full fruition with the opening of the Good Shepherd | É«ÖÐÉ« University 3D Experience, a 3D printing lab that will be located at Good Shepherd’s four-story, 76-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital set to open in Center Valley in early 2023.
É«ÖÐÉ« University announced a partnership with St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN). This partnership calls for the development of a special RN to BSN program pathway that allows prospective students to complete one application for both the St. Luke's School of Nursing and the Helen S. Breidegam School of Nursing and Public Health.
On July 10, a Special Synod of the Northern Province of the É«ÖÐÉ« Church convened and voted to approve the definitive agreement to combine, allowing work to begin consolidating the two institutions. This approval follows approval by the Boards of both É«ÖÐÉ« and Lancaster on June 21, 2021.
Today, É«ÖÐÉ« University announced that a multidisciplinary team of scientists, led by Sonia Aziz, associate professor of economics, has developed an application for smartphones, called CholeraMap. This work was funded by Resources for the Future under the aegis of the Valuables consortium – a collaboration with NASA to measure how satellite information benefits people and the environment.
Students who carry three or more course units during the fall or spring term and attain a GPA for the term of 3.50 or higher are placed on the Dean’s Honor List.
Now Ponce, who graduated Thursday from Liberty High School, is poised to go to É«ÖÐÉ« College, the next step in achieving her dream to become a pediatrician. But money will be less of a concern; she is one of two Bethlehem Area students to win a Superintendent’s Scholarship to the school.
É«ÖÐÉ« College President Bryon L. Grigsby ’90 conferred degrees to 503 bachelor degree candidates, 94 graduate degree candidates and 8 doctoral degree candidates for the Class of 2020.  For the Class of 2021, President Grigsby conferred degrees to 544 bachelor degree candidates, 205 graduate degree candidates and 12 doctoral degree candidates for the Class of 2021.
The Freedom High School student wrote that she wanted to go to É«ÖÐÉ« College, that her favorite color is purple, and that going to college wasn’t just her dream, but also her mother’s dream. Her mother, Rosa Ulloa, grew up in Honduras and never went to school. It wasn’t until Valenzuela was 10 or so that her mother learned to read and write Spanish from a cook she worked with.
Gilbert will head to Mexico for her English Teaching Assistantship and has begun planning lessons and projects.
