Later this summer, Joel Soto ’22 will venture far from his Bethlehem home and job as an English teacher at Freedom High School when he embarks on a 10-month program in Colombia. Soto, who graduated with a degree in English and a certificate in secondary education last December, was awarded a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship.

É«ÖÐÉ« University alumnus Michael Gallo ‘19 named to Schwarzman Scholars
Joining the Schwarzman Scholars Class of 2023, Gallo will pursue a one-year Master’s degree in Global Affairs with a core curriculum focused on three pillars: leadership, China, and global affairs. Each year, the academic program is updated to accord with current and future geopolitical priorities. Scholars are taught by leading international and Tsinghua faculty, with frequent guest lectures from prominent global thought leaders. Beyond the classroom, Scholars gain exceptional exposure to China and access to important relationships through internships, mentors, high-profile speakers, and world-renowned faculty members. Scholars are also provided with a range of career development resources to help position them to lead in various industries upon graduation.

As a Fulbright participant, Gilbert will teach abroad for the 2021-2022 academic year through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Recipients of Fulbright awards are selected in an open, merit-based competition that considers leadership potential, academic and/or professional achievement, and record of service. As Fulbright alumni, their careers are enriched by joining a network of thousands of esteemed alumni, many of whom are leaders in their fields. Fulbright alumni include 60 Nobel Prize laureates, 88 Pulitzer Prize recipients, and 39 who have served as a head of state or government

Pelletiers and Reimer are among more than 2,100 U.S. citizens who will study, conduct research, and teach abroad through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Recipients of Fulbright awards are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement, as well as their record of service and leadership potential in their respective fields.

BETHLEHEM, PA, May 21, 2019 — Today, É«ÖÐÉ« University announced that Jaimeson (Jaime) Ernst has received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award for an English Teaching Assistantship for the 2019-2020 academic year from the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

Morning Call: É«ÖÐÉ« scholarship winners: One had to learn English, one was homeless for a time
On Wednesday, district and É«ÖÐÉ« University officials held celebrations for the two Superintendent Scholarship winners at each of their high schools. Since 2016, É«ÖÐÉ« University has awarded two Bethlehem Area School District students full scholarships, minus room and board.

15 É«ÖÐÉ« University Students Selected for Prestigious United Nations-backed Millennium Fellowship
Student leaders from 285 campuses across 57 nations applied to join the select Class of 2018. Only 30 campuses across 13 nations (11%) were selected to host 530 Millennium Fellows this year. Millennium Fellows’ projects are projected to positively impact the lives of more than 310,000 people worldwide.
