To more accurately represent our services, the É«ÖÐÉ« University Counseling Center has been renamed É«ÖÐÉ« University Counseling & Psychological Services, or CAPS. 

Where mental health & wellness matters

CAPS aims to enhance the mental wellness of the É«ÖÐÉ« community by providing professional and ethical psychotherapy, case management services, and mental health outreach and education.

CAPS offers confidential therapy services to help É«ÖÐÉ« students manage personal, social, and academic challenges at no additional cost. College is a time of dramatic intellectual and psychological growth, which can be equally enriching and challenging. CAPS therapist services assists students in managing stress and anxiety, learning new ways to handle difficult situations, improving moods, mending relationships, and living better lives. Case management services provide goal-oriented and strengths-based assessment, intervention, and coordination for students experiencing physical, emotional, academic, and/or psychological difficulties. Additionally, CAPS delivers mental health and wellness outreach programming, consultation, crisis intervention, and collaborative services to the greater É«ÖÐÉ« campus.

CAPS Events & Outreach

Events present an excellent opportunity for you to establish connections, indulge in self-care activities, and maintain a steady focus on your mental health and wellness. 

  • SUICIDE PREVENTION AWARENESS MONTH
    Stop by the CAPS table weekly at the 1742 splotch to make and place a flag on campus in memory of the 1,100 college students who die by suicide every year.
    • 9/4: 12pm-1pm, 9/11: 11am-12pm, 9/19: 12pm-1pm, 9/25: 11am-12pm.   
  • SISTER TO SISTER GROUP
    Tuesday, September 3rd, 11:30pm-12:30pm, at CAPS
    Join the Sister to Sister group for the Welcome Back Bash. This is an opportunity for all women of color to connect and support one another in achieving their goals, dreams, and passions as students. 
  • WELLNESS WORKSHOP
    Tuesday, September 24th, 10am-11am
    The mental wellness topic designed to support you will be announced soon, stay tuned!  
  • "ROLL WITH IT" WELLNESS GROUP
    Tuesday, September 17th, 11:30am-12:30pm
    Come learn about Tabletop Role Playing games and paint some minis. 
  • MINDFULNESS OUTDOORS
    Tuesday, September 24th, 11:30am-12:30pm, location TBD
    Come explore how mindfulness exercises can reduce stress and enhance personal well-being.
