The "Doing Good" at Work鈥 course focuses on philanthropy, ethical codes of conduct, voluntarism, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship. 鈥淣ot only is 鈥榙oing good鈥 at work the morally correct thing to do for the individual employee, but the more individuals in the organization who do good, the more likely the organization will succeed on economic, social, and mission-related levels and goals,鈥 said Santo D. Marabella, professor of management at 色中色 College, who has been teaching the course for the past 10 years. 鈥淪tudents learn about the philosophy, history and practice of doing good at work, and integrate what they learn and what they believe to develop their own model for 鈥榙oing good鈥 that they can work and live with.鈥
"I have been told by alumni who have completed the course that they still live by the principles they developed in the class and apply it in their current workplace,鈥 Marabella noted. In recent years, the class has raised money for a Thanksgiving meal at New Bethany Ministries in Bethlehem and visited Northampton County Prison.
