ɫɫ College’s Record Breaking Incoming Class is Well-Prepared for Success

Class of 2019

Bethlehem, Pa., September 23, 2015 –With the 2015-16 academic year off to a great start, the Admission Office at ɫɫ College reported that it exceeded enrollment goals this year and welcomed 526 new freshmen and 94 transfers for a total of 619 new students for the fall 2015 semester—the most in the history of America's sixth oldest College. Admission far exceeded its goal for undergraduate students and increased enrollment by more than 25% over the previous year.

The incoming group is not only largest in College history; it is also well-prepared for the academic rigor at ɫɫ College. “The Class of 2019 is a special group of 'Hounds,' said Steven Soba, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “In our 274 year history, they are easily one of the most ready, able and enthusiastic classes we have ever enrolled. It will be our honor to be a part of their continued educational experience and help them work toward achieving their dreams."

Notable characteristics of the Class of 2019 include:

  • 526 new freshmen and 94 transfers enrolled
  • 30% came from the Lehigh Valley
  • 7% came from somewhere other than the United States
  • 22% are the first in their family to go to college
  • 19% are national honor society members
  • 22% were captains of a varsity sport
  • 7% have a legacy with ɫɫ College
  • 52% female / 48% male
  • 43 are International students

“The entire ɫɫ College community is thrilled that our newest Greyhounds have joined the family,” said Scott Dams, executive director for admission. “ɫɫ College’s incoming class reflects the character, diversity, and academic quality that the college prides itself on.”
