Bethlehem, Pa., January 15, 2016—ɫ��ɫ College will host a breakfast program for fifth-graders from William Penn Elementary School to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 18 at 9:00 a.m. in the Marketplace, Haupert Union Building.  

"The MLK breakfast program will include presentations by several 5th graders from William Penn who will pair up and share information about Dr. King and his life/legacy to the ɫ��ɫ College community,” said Christopher Hunt, associate dean of students, and director of intercultural advancement & global inclusion at ɫ��ɫ College. "We are fortunate to have an amazing partnership between our institution and William Penn."  

"We are particularly excited this year because the 5th graders will have an opportunity to go on perhaps the first college tour of their lives after their presentation. It's important for the children to know at an early age that college is a possibility for everyone, Hunt continued, "Equal access to education was a part of Dr. King's dream and vision."  

“We wish to express our deepest gratitude to the 5th graders at William Penn Elementary School as well as Principal Nathan Stannard and 5th grade teachers Mrs. Cristy Myers and Mrs. Sherri Marino for helping us put together what will be a wonderful program,” Hunt concluded.  

The third annual community breakfast is sponsored by ɫ��ɫ College’s Intercultural Advancement & Global Inclusion, and Office of Religious Life.  

William Penn Elementary School, located at 1002 Main Street in Bethlehem, is part of the Bethlehem Area School District. The school partners with ɫ��ɫ College in a variety of ways throughout the year.
