Checklist of optimal action items recommended for current students to take full advantage of the opportunities available to them via É«ÖÐɫ’s Elevate Experience.

Summer Prior

The Summer PRIOR to arriving on campus as a first year student

  • GENERAL: Explore and better understand the Elevate Program opportunities and discuss with parents, roommates, and others.
  • Career: Complete the Activate your Elevate Experience Set in Suitable and complete the Career Launch assessment.

First Year

Fall Semester

  • Explore and get involved in campus life!  Attend the Student Organization Fair.  Sign up for all things that interest you to ensure you are in the communication pipeline.
  • RISE: As you prepare for Spring registration classes, discuss registering for TWL 110.1 with your advisor, and add it as an additional quarter-unit to your spring schedule.
  • Global Greyhound Travel: Apply for or renew your passport.
  • Career: Schedule a meeting with your Career Development Strategist to learn more about the Career Promise, Career Readiness Digital Badging, and how your Strategist can help you achieve your goals!

Spring Semester

  • RISE: Register for TWL 115.1 as part of your Fall Schedule
  • Global Greyhound Travel: Attend the grand reveal of next year’s travel programs at the Global Greyhound Fair during the first week of April. Sign a travel agreement to secure your spot on a travel program.
  • Career: Schedule a second meeting with your Career Development Strategist and explore career opportunities related to your major or academic interests. Complete the First-Year Experience Set in Suitable.

Second Year

Fall Semester

  • RISE: Register for TWL 120.2 as part of your Spring Schedule and get excited about the Collaborative Community partner project (a type of Team-based internship).
  • Global Greyhound Travel: Apply for or renew your passport, attend the Education Abroad Fair in September, sign a travel agreement to secure your spot on a travel program.
  • Career: Meet with your Career Development Strategist to write or revise a resume and learn more about experiential learning opportunities, like externships, internships, or volunteering! Revisit conversations about major and academic interests.

Spring Semester

  • Complete TWL 120.2, the culmination of the RISE Program. With your team, present your work at the Spring RISE Teamwork & Leadership Summit (part of TWL 120.2 course).
  • Global Greyhound Travel: Attend the grand reveal of next year’s travel programs at the Global Greyhound Fair during the first week of April. Sign a travel agreement to secure your spot on a travel program.
  • Career: You should be halfway complete (150 points) with each of your Digital Badges. Meet with your Strategist and share your goals for the summer and year ahead.

Third Year

Fall Semester

  • Global Greyhound Travel: Apply for or renew your passport, attend the Education Abroad Fair in September, sign a travel agreement to secure your spot on a travel program.
  • Career: Explore internship opportunities on Handshake and update your Handshake profile to showcase your experience and interests.

Spring Semester

  • Global Greyhound Travel: Attend the grand reveal of next year’s travel programs at the Global Greyhound Fair during the first week of April. Sign a travel agreement to secure your spot on a travel program.
  • Career: Begin applying for internships or research opportunities.  Meet with your Career Development Strategist to practice interview and networking skills.

Fourth Year

Fall Semester

  • Global Greyhound Travel: Apply for or renew your passport, attend the Education Abroad Fair in September, sign a travel agreement to secure your spot on a travel program.
  • Career: Complete your Career Readiness Digital Badges (300 points in each) and share them to your LinkedIn profile. Review your post-graduation plans with your Career Development Strategist.

Spring Semester

  • Global Greyhound Travel: Attend the grand reveal of next year’s travel programs at the Global Greyhound Fair during the first week of April. Sign a travel agreement to secure your spot on a travel program.
  • Career: Complete the final Career Launch assessment to see how far you’ve come in your skillset, and complete the First Destination Survey to let us know where you’ll be heading after É«ÖÐÉ«.
