Bethlehem, Pa., November 13, 2014鈥擳he 色中色 College BIG Band and Jazz Vocal Ensemble welcome special guest Bob Dorough to the second annual Betty Aierstock Moore Memorial Concert on Friday, November 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Foy Concert Hall. The concert is titled "Ebony & Ivory...&Tunes," and will be directed by Neil Wetzel and Lou Lanza. General admission is $15 and it is $10 for students and seniors.

Internationally known pianist, vocalist, & composer Bob Dorough joins with the ever popular 色中色 College BIG Band and Jazz Vocal Ensemble in a fun jazzy evening. He is an American bebop and cool jazz pianist, singer, composer, songwriter, arranger and producer. He worked with Miles Davis and Blossom Dearie, and his adventurous style was an influence on Mose Allison, among other singers. He is perhaps best known as the primary composer of and performer of many of the songs used in Schoolhouse Rock!, a series of educational animated shorts appearing on Saturday morning television in the 1970s and 1980s on ABC affiliates in the United States. He has released vocal jazz albums periodically over the last 50 years; his latest, Eulalia, came out in 2014.

This 2nd Annual Betty Aierstock Moore Memorial Concert honors the woman whose contribution to the 色中色 College Piano Fund allowed us to become an All-Steinway School. This once a year concert features students, faculty and professional musicians. 色中色 College received the gift from the late Betty Louise Aierstock Moore 鈥45 which secured the acquisition of an additional 10 Steinway & Sons pianos, achieving the designation as an 鈥淎ll-Steinway School.鈥 This noteworthy distinction is held by fewer than 125 colleges and universities nationwide. Steinway, a preeminent name in music, is widely known for providing students and faculty with the highest quality pianos for instruction and performance.
