2023

Victoria Alercia in June, she and her family sadly said goodbye to their beloved dog, Skeeter. As a way to continue sharing the love that they had for him, her sons and she wrote a book to help guide other children and families through the loss of their pets. Dan & Mark helped with drawing the illustrations. They will be officially launching their book in the community on small business Saturday at Visionistas in Nazareth (see attached flyer for more details). The book will also be available for purchase on Amazon.

 

Amy Frantz Gross After nearly a decade of working in Lafayette College's Office of Alumni Relations, she accepted the role of Lehigh's Director of Traditions and Class Affinity in their Development and Alumni Relations Division. Her responsibilities include Lehigh's annual alumni Reunion and leading a team that educates students on the importance of Lehigh traditions and philanthropy, builds young alumni engagement opportunities, and organizes Class Notes for Lehigh's alumni magazine. Her husband and she were thrilled to introduce their son to the magic of the holidays at É«ÖÐÉ« taking him to Fireside Storytime with President Grigsby and Mo. After a few year hiatus, Kate Struck Massa '06 and she were able to attend Vespers in December, sharing the experience with her daughters for the first time.

Jennie Hoose Andreas married Nicholas Andreas, in Allentown on July 30, 2022. Fellow É«ÖÐÉ« Alum Jacquelyn (Olimpo) Morrow (2008) served as a bridesmaid. Artist-lecturer Alison Gillespie, along with her husband Tom and friends Mary-Joan Gaynor and Al Keller, provided music for the ceremony.

Amy Frantz Gross  and her husband, Scott, welcomed a son, Spencer Scott, on July 13, 2022. Spencer's É«ÖÐÉ« legacy runs deep. He is the grandson of the late William Gross '65 and the great-grandson of the late June Shafer Scholl '51.

Victoria Alercia is a licensed professional counselor with 15 years experience in the mental health field. After filing for divorce last year, she chose to focus on her healing journey. This lead her to combining her 2 passions of therapy and spirituality. She was recently trained with Resilient Lehigh Valley to facilitate the TREE program (trauma, restorative practices, emotional intelligence, equity). She is also working on becoming certified to facilitate faith based trauma healing groups. She is currently offering 2 programs: I am loving the me that I'm choosing to be which is a free program to educate children in schools on how to develop a healthy mindset. Her 2nd program, A New You, is offered at Visionistas By Design, to assist women on their healing journey after leaving an abusive relationship. Her podcast on youtube offers many suggestions for education and community connections. She is dedicating much of her time and effort towards advocating for individuals who have been affected by domestic violence by sharing her new book "our rose-colored glasses" on Amazon, scheduling speaking engagements, and developing a domestic violence task force for the Lehigh Valley. Erin Gonda Key and her husband welcomed their daughter, Rowan, on January 15, 2022. She joins her big sister Stella who is 4.

October 2021

Courtney Wright-Werner earned tenure in the spring of 2020, and was promoted to Associate Professor of English Rhetoric and Writing at Monmouth University on July 1, 2021. She is currently serving as the Interim Director of First-Year Writing.

April 2021

Shannon Gardner Bakros and her husband, Steve, welcomed their son, Hudson Edward, on January 30, 2021. He joins big sisters Quinn and Teagan.

October 2020

Rachel Vannatta Gleiser and Chad Gleiser were married on October 3, 2020. They also moved to Missouri.

August 2020

Post-doctoral fellow Karima Modjadidi, Ph.D. will start working at the Research Triangle Institute (RTI) in Durham, NC. She has been a fellow at the Duke Law Center for Science and Justice for two years, and she will transition to similar work at RTI in the courts and corrections division of the applied justice wing.

March 2020

Amanda Logan has been named executive liaison for College of Eastern Idaho. Previously, Amanda served as the chief of staff of a small watchdog group before she and her husband relocated to Idaho Falls. She began her career conducting economic policy research and analysis at a think tank in Washington, D.C., after which she moved to the U.S. Department of the Treasury in 2009.

February 2020

Buckno Lisicky & Company named Chris Betley a shareholder. He has experience in audits of local and state government entities and also performs firm-wide quality control technical reviews, inspection, and in-house training. He was employed with a regional accounting firm in New Jersey and is a certified public accountant.

October 2019

Jamie Hillegass Bigley and Joseph Bigley welcomed a daughter, Lennon Julia Mae, on March 2, 2019. Lennon joins her big brothers Thatcher and Tate.
